PS 240 - Human Growth and Development

F,S 3 credits Designed to meet the needs of all health professions students, the focus of this course will be on the psychological, cognitive, and social factors that affect individual human behavior over the life cycle. The issues, tasks and socialization processes at various stages of the life cycle from birth through old age to death will be examined. Family composition and dynamics as well as ethnicity, racial background, gender, social class, the experience of mortality, and social networks are presented as part of the social and sychological environment. Prerequisite: PS 101.
